Ken has over 25 years experience in the financial markets with an exceptional track record. Prior to founding Kinsey-Quick Capital Management in 2014, Ken was at Thames River Capital in London where he was a partner for over ten years before selling to F&C. Here he built the business up to a peak of $3bn in assets and won numerous international performance awards. Whilst at Thames River, Ken sat on the Executive Committee of the CFA Society (UK) and was the founding chairman of the Society’s investment reserves committee.
After graduating from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, he started working for Blue Circle Pension Investments (1991) and then joined CCF Foster & Braithwaite (1992) as a private client portfolio manager in London. Ken then moved to Paris to join Ifabanque (part of the Permal Group) in 1994 where he managed the Challenger funds of which the largest and oldest, Challenger US, was ranked number one by TASS in the three years prior to his departure. Ken also sat on the Research Committee for Haussmann Holdings, the oldest fund of hedge funds in the world. In 2000 Ken founded Redwood Investments which was sold to Coronation Holdings shortly thereafter. He was the CIO for Coronation’s fund of hedge funds business in London which at its peak had over $1bn in assets under management.
Outside KQCM, Ken was a trustee of the Bridge House School and is a founding trustee of the Cape Wine Auction.
